Safeguarding at Kingswood is a priority and everybody in the community is responsible for the health, safety and welfare of the children.
How we enable children to be safe?

How do the Kingswood Team keep your child safe?
- More staff than not are paediatric first aid trained
- All staff receive annual Safeguarding training
- Carry out risk assessments when required
- Spend more time interacting with children than distracted by recording observations on devices
- Report concerns quickly
How does the Kingswood Community contribute to your child's safety?
- Mobile phones are not used in school grounds
- No smoking OR vaping in school grounds or outside the school fence
- They park considerately, and do not park on the yellow zigzags or block our neighbours driveways
- They keep gates shut
- They provide and use a password for pickup
- They inform us of changes to contact details, medical, allergy and family information immediately
- They ensure packed lunches are nut free
How does the Kingswood Leadership team ensure your child is safe?
- Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputies in school
- Governor with responsibility for Safeguarding
- Follow Safer Recruitment practices
- Share relevant and up to date information with staff and families
- Ensure all staff have a full DBS check
- Respond to concerns raised by members of staff
- Attend regular training
- Update the Child Protection Policy annually and ensure statutory guidance is followed
- Demonstrate a professional curiosity
